Homemade Costumes can be some of the most creative seen at any party. Coming up with a good idea can be a difficult task.  Hopefully we can help.

Of course the old standby is an old sheet with some eye-holes cutout and you have an instant ghost.  But that doesn’t leave allot of room for creativity.  When you are thinking of your costume ideas, think about where you will be going and what you will be doing in it.  Is it just for Trick-or-treating, going to a party (or two), or both.

If it’s just for trick or treating you want to make sure it’s visible to traffic, and also that you have full visibility while wearing it.  If you are creating a costume for going to a party, think about things like, will I be able to eat or drink, can I sit, or even dance with it on, and what kind of crowd may be there and is what I’m wearing going to be appropriate for all ages there.

Now that you have the basics down, how do we find costume ideas?  Well, this website is a good source.  A homemade costume does not mean you have to make everything from scratch.  You can buy a good pre-packaged costume and ad your own personal touches to make it unique.
